Le produit est utilisé dans le domaine médical comme agent de contraste et facilite l’examen radiographique du tractus gastro-intestinal et de nombreux autres domaines.
Les spécifications chimiques du produit respectent toutes les dispositions de la Pharmacopée européenne, de l’USP et de la pharmacopée internationale.
Incorporé sous la forme d’additif dans les mélanges-maîtres et les composés utilisés dans les plastiques opaques aux rayons X pour la production de cathéters, de tubes de drainage et de canules, le produit rend ces éléments visibles aux rayons X.
Les minuscules parties en plastique des jouets qu’un enfant pourrait avaler peuvent être rapidement localisées aux rayons X si le plastique contient le produit sous forme d’additif.
